TIM BOHLKE

Leader. Writer. Dreamer.

Welcome to my personal blog. My hope is that the simple words here might encourage others to live with rhythm, leave an intentional legacy, and do what it takes to finish the next season of life well. I have experienced the challenging, difficult, and sometimes rough seas of leadership in a lot of different roles—as a husband, father, executive leader, pastor, teacher, coach, and counselor. The random thoughts hear come a little from all of those perspectives

“This will be an honest, sometimes raw conversation on leadership, family, and life in a way that I think is different, and in a way that I hope will encourage those who join me to keep chasing God, keep pursuing key relationships, and keep dreaming with renewed passion and purpose.”

Life throws a lot at us. I am fighting a few battles as I write this; discouragement and disappointments with some things my family is going through, struggles with work and finances, and some thoughts that life is not quite turning out the way I thought it would. At the same time, I am thankful, blessed, and passionate about the work I am currently involved with at Harbor Ministry. And I’m determined to keep chasing God as best I can through all of it.

My plan is to post every couple of weeks, or as thoughts come. You can subscribe via email.

I am passionate about being a husband and dad. I have been married to Marcia for more than thirty years, and we have three, twenty-somethings: two sons and a daughter. I love traveling, mountain biking, Crested Butte,Colorado, the San Diego boardwalk, and creating new and meaningful experiences for my family and others. I have lived in Lincoln, Nebraska, since college, but I do find myself daydreaming often of a place in the mountains. Most people would think I live in Colorado already.

So here is to a place to be honest—a place that I hope will encourage you to keep seeking the mystery of God’s calling, to live life with a sense of rhythm, to invest deeply in you family, and to attempt to understand what it means to finish well. If any of this fits you, I want to invite you in.
